THE BRIEF
We provided M&E design and build solutions for the installation of a new MRI suite in Spire Southbank in Worcester. With a duration of 8 weeks and value of over £265,000, the project called for infrastructure enabling works in a short timeframe.
KEY CHALLENGES
This project called for the design and build of a new MRI suite within an existing live hospital environment. This called for a meticulously planned, fast track programme to minimise any disruption to the hospital's operations.
All materials and equipment installed for the project needed to be of exacting specification to meet HTM and HBN compliance standards.
The installation of the MRI magnet required us to develop a full lifting plan to deploy a crane to safely install the heavy equipment into the operational hospital. The plan included the need to re-route traffic and close roads during the installation.
